OCHA: More Than 9 Million People Receive Humanitarian Aid in Afghanistan
DID Press: Around 9.3 million people in Afghanistan received humanitarian assistance between January and August 2026, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says.

OCHA announced that approximately 9.3 million people across Afghanistan benefited from humanitarian assistance during the first eight months of 2026.
According to the agency, only 30 percent of the funding required to respond to humanitarian needs in Afghanistan has so far been secured.
OCHA said $513 million of the required funding has been provided, while a further $1.2 billion funding gap remains.
