Following his visits, US special representative on Afghan peace process Zalmay Khalilzad Arrived in Kandahar Wednesday to discuss views.
During the trip, Mr Khalilzad will meet provincial leaders, elders, women and civil activists to discuss their views.
“I met with civil society leaders who have long called for peace, and recognize that now is the time to finally attain it,” he twitted. “
President Ghani’s chief of staff Abdul Salam Rahimi accompanies Khalilzad during the trip.
“All Afghans have a stake in shaping Afghanistan’s future and we should welcome all of these voices in the Afghan peace process,” he added.
This is Khalilzad’s first visit to one of Afghanistan’s provinces regarding the peace process.
