Justice Ministry Bans Rent Hikes over 10% in Afghanistan

DID Press: The caretaker government’s Ministry of Justice announced that homeowners are not allowed to raise residential rents by more than 10% compared to the previous year.

The decision, aimed at protecting tenants and preventing financial exploitation, was approved during the first meeting of the Joint Committee for Rent Control.

The Ministry of Justice warned that legal action will be taken in cases of violation, and informal or blank-paper agreements will not be considered valid.
