The results of a recent DID Press survey on the potential consequences of activating the “snapback mechanism” against Iran provide a clear picture of public concerns.

According to the findings, half of the respondents (50%) believe the first and most significant effect of this measure would be mounting economic sanctions and financial pressure on Iran.
The result indicates that a substantial portion of the public views the return or expansion of sanctions as the main tool of pressure on Tehran.
In second and third place, two closely ranked consequences emerge: heightened political and security tensions in the region, and a decline in Iran’s diplomatic engagements and foreign relations, each accounting for 17% of the responses.
These figures suggest that some respondents are also focused on implications beyond the economy, namely shifts in geopolitical balances and restriction of Iran’s diplomatic channels.
Ranked fourth is the collapse of remaining nuclear agreements, receiving 16% of the votes.
This indicates that while some consider the complete demise of the JCPOA or similar agreements an important outcome, it is regarded as less critical than economic and political pressures.
Overall Analysis
The poll reveals that, from the public’s perspective, the economy remains the primary target of international pressure on Iran. At the same time, concerns about regional security and Iran’s diplomatic standing are also notable among respondents. These perceptions may reflect the experiences of recent years and the direct impact of sanctions on people’s daily lives.
