Iran Sympathizes with Afghanistan following Deadly Earthquake
DID Press: Iran’s Foreign Minister expressed condolences over the deaths and injuries of hundreds of people caused by recent earthquake in eastern Afghanistan, saying Iran is ready to provide humanitarian aid.

In a message, Iranian Foreign Minister Sayed Abbas Araghchi extended sympathy to the Afghanistan government and people. “The Government and people of Iran express their deep sorrow and regret over the severe earthquake in eastern Afghanistan, which has claimed many lives and injured hundreds of the country’s noble citizens,” he said.
He further expressed solidarity with the victims’ families and declared that Iran is fully prepared to send emergency, medical, and humanitarian assistance. “Our hearts are with the resilient people of Afghanistan. We hope this calamity can be overcome and relief provided to those affected through regional cooperation,” the message added.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Kabul also issued a statement mourning the loss of life, particularly in Kunar province. The statement expressed solidarity with Afghanistan families and emphasized that Iran shares in the grief of the Afghanistan people. It further described the disaster a “heart-wrenching tragedy” and expressed hope that, through regional cooperation and mutual support, Afghanistan will soon achieve lasting peace, security, and stability.
