China Displays Military Strength as Global Leaders Attend V-Day Parade
DID Press: China marked anniversary of its victory in World War II and the 80th year since the end of the war with Japan with a grand military parade at Tiananmen Square in Beijing. Strategic bombers, including H-6N, H-6K, and H-6J variants, flew in formation, demonstrating long-range strike capabilities, wide-area patrols, and precision targeting beyond defensive zones.

For the first time, an aerial refueling formation was showcased: three YY-20A tankers accompanied H-6N bombers and J-16 and J-20 fighters, highlighting the People’s Liberation Army Air Force’s logistical and combat capabilities.
China also unveiled its latest nuclear delivery systems, including the intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) DF-61 and an unannounced DF-31BJ variant. Submarine-launched JL-3 and air-launched JL-1 ballistic missiles were publicly displayed, along with the upgraded DF-5C silo-based ICBM, capable of global reach and carrying multiple warheads.
The event was attended by dozens of world leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Indonesian President Joko Widodo, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. They emphasized the importance of remembering history and strengthening China’s global standing.
The parade not only commemorated history but also served as a display of China’s military and nuclear capabilities, reinforcing the country’s position on the world stage.
