Setting up CASA-1000 Power Transmission Towers Begins in Panjshir
DID Press: After a period of suspension, work on the regional and strategic CASA-1000 power project has resumed in Afghanistan’s Panjshir province.

Authorities confirmed that installation of transmission towers has begun in Paryan districts, Hisa Awal, Rokha, Anaba, and Bazarak, integrating Panjshir into regional energy transit network.
A spokesperson for the Taliban-appointed governor of Panjshir said that the land acquisition process along the project route has been completed and compensation payments to landowners are underway. More than 300 landowners are expected to receive between 25 and 30 million Afghanis in compensation.
CASA-1000 is one of the largest energy transmission projects in Central and South Asia, designed to carry surplus electricity from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan through Afghanistan to Pakistan. In addition to receiving 300 megawatts of power for domestic consumption, Afghanistan stands to earn up to $65 million annually in transit fees.
