Pakistan Says ‘Path of Dialogue with Afghanistan Open’
DID Press: Following intense border clashes with Taliban forces, Pakistan issued an official statement condemning attacks launched from Afghanistan territory while reporting heavy losses among the assailants. Despite the sharp tone, Islamabad reaffirmed its commitment to diplomacy and dialogue with Kabul.

In response to overnight armed confrontations along the frontier, Pakistan’s government expressed deep concern over what it described as “unprovoked aggression by Afghan Taliban and associated Kharijite elements.”
According to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, during the night of October 11–12, armed groups operating from Afghanistan soil carried out “provocative and hostile acts” in border areas.
The Pakistani military said it had responded under the “right to self-defense”, effectively repelling the assaults. The statement claimed that the attackers suffered “significant losses in personnel, equipment, and infrastructure used to plan terrorist operations.”
Islamabad also warned that “Kharijite elements” operating from Afghanistan posed a serious threat to regional stability.
Despite the escalation, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry emphasized that the country continues to prioritize diplomacy:
“Pakistan values dialogue, diplomacy, and mutually beneficial relations with Afghanistan and will continue to closely monitor the situation,” the statement reads.
In a separate section, the statement dismissed recent remarks by Amir Khan Muttaqi, Taliban’s acting foreign minister, during his visit to India, as “baseless” and an attempt to divert attention from the presence and free activity of terrorist elements on Afghanistan soil.
