Over 80% of Afghanistan People Lack Reliable Electricity
DID Press: UN Development Programme (UNDP) reported that Afghanistan remains among the countries facing severe energy insecurity, with more than 80 percent of its population lacking access to stable electricity.

According to the report, most Afghanistan households rely on firewood to meet their daily energy needs—a practice that poses health and safety risks and contributes to environmental degradation.
The UNDP said it has launched several projects aimed at improving access to clean and sustainable energy through the development of renewable energy sources in various regions of Afghanistan.
These initiatives seek to reduce dependence on wood-based fuels, improve living conditions, and mitigate environmental damage across the country.
