Afghanistan Stands with Palestine on Solidarity Day
DID Press: On 29 November 2025, the world observes the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People — a date that represents far more than a calendar event. It stands as a symbol of decades of suffering, resistance, and hope for millions who have lived under occupation and discrimination. The day invites global reflection on justice, human rights, and the international community’s commitment to addressing one of the world’s longest-running crises.

The Palestinian issue has grown increasingly complex in recent years. Normalization between several Arab states and Israel, continued illegal settlement expansion in the West Bank, and the blockade of Gaza have pushed the two-state solution further to the margins, while the political and civil rights of Palestinians remain unfulfilled. In this context, solidarity with Palestine is no longer symbolic — it has become a practical necessity. Pressure on international institutions, support for civil and human-rights movements, and amplifying Palestinian voices across media platforms are vital steps toward justice.
For Afghanistan — a nation that has endured decades of war, displacement, and foreign occupation — solidarity with Palestine is not merely a political stance but a moral obligation. Afghans have experienced injustice, forced migration, and resistance not as abstract concepts but as lived realities. This shared history forms a deep emotional and ethical bond between Afghans and Palestinians, underscoring that defending the fundamental rights of a people is part of a universal human conscience.
The International Day of Solidarity is also a reminder of Palestinians’ historical rights. UN Resolution 194, affirming the right of return for Palestinian refugees, has remained unimplemented for more than seventy years. Today, the crucial question is how the historical rights of Palestinians can be reconciled with security and equal civil and political rights for all inhabitants of the region. Durable peace, many argue, requires reimagining the political structure of historic Palestine to ensure equality for all.
But the day is not only about legal rights; it is also about humanity, hope, and resilience. Daily life in Gaza, stories of displacement, and the creativity and perseverance of Palestinians under hardship demonstrate that the human desire for freedom and justice cannot be suppressed. Silence in the face of injustice amounts to complicity, and the world must show that it remains capable of defending human rights.
For Afghans and all freedom-seeking nations, Palestine is more than a geopolitical conflict — it symbolizes the enduring struggle between justice and oppression. Supporting Palestine is a commitment to global ethics and a reminder that freedom, human dignity, and solidarity transcend borders. As the world turns its gaze toward Palestine, the responsibility is clear: to be a voice for justice, to stand in solidarity, and to act in pursuit of resolving one of the most prolonged crises of the modern era.
Ultimately, the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is a call to reflection and action — reflection on their history and suffering, and action to defend their human rights. Resilience, hope, and humanity shine across borders, reminding us that justice in this historic land remains an unfinished mission.
