EU Reaffirms Ongoing Support for Afghanistan People

DID Press: EU diplomatic mission in Afghanistan, in a New Year message marking the start of 2026, reiterated the bloc’s longstanding and continued support for the people of Afghanistan.

According to the statement, the EU will keep assisting sectors that are directly touch daily life in Afghanistan and that have a tangible impact on livelihoods and overall well-being.

The EU further noted that it will stand with the Afghan people in the year ahead and will not scale back its humanitarian and support efforts.

The message concluded with New Year wishes for peace, prosperity, and security for the people of Afghanistan in 2026.
