Polish FM Slams Trump: “No One Can Mock Our Soldiers”

DID Press: Poland’s Foreign Minister, Radosław Sikorski, strongly condemned remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding NATO forces in Afghanistan, asserting that “no one has the right to mock Polish soldiers.”

Writing on X (formerly Twitter), Sikorski highlighted the service of Polish troops in Ghazni province, southern Afghanistan, describing it as a frontline region with a 7 out of 10 level of danger. “No one has the right to belittle the service of our soldiers,” he underlined.

Polish President Karol Nawrocki also defended the country’s troops, saying they are “heroes who deserve respect and gratitude.” Prime Minister Donald Tusk recalled attending a 2011 farewell ceremony for Polish forces, where U.S. officers assured him that America would “never forget Polish heroes,” adding that Trump may need to be reminded of this fact.

In a separate response, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer called Trump’s remarks “insulting and frankly shocking,” noting that he would have apologized had he made a similar statement.
