Afghanistan Opens National Cancer Diagnosis, Treatment Hospital in Kabul
DID Press: Afghanistan inaugurated its National Specialized Hospital for Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment on Thursday, Jan. 29, in Kabul, in a ceremony attended by the acting Minister of Public Health.

The new facility aims to significantly improve care for cancer patients across the country. Acting Health Minister Noor Jalal Jalali stated that the hospital is designed to handle high patient volumes while providing advanced treatment and diagnostic services.
“This hospital will offer specialized care for cancer patients and represents one of the most important steps toward enhancing healthcare services in Afghanistan,” Jalali said. He added that, under a strategic plan, the facility will expand its nationwide services over the coming years.
Afghanistan has long struggled with limited cancer treatment infrastructure, forcing many patients to seek advanced care in neighboring countries such as Iran and Pakistan. The new hospital aims to fill this gap, offering local access to specialized physicians, modern equipment, and critical medications that were previously scarce.
