Herat Governor: Corrupt Officials to be Treated as Kidnappers
DID Press: Taliban-appointed governor of Herat warned against administrative corruption, saying officials who abuse their authority are viewed by the government as equivalent to kidnappers.

Maulvi Noor Ahmad Islamjar, the Taliban governor of Herat province, warned of the spread of corruption within government institutions and stressed that authorities would take firm and uncompromising action against corrupt employees.
Speaking at a public gathering, Islamjar said that from the government’s perspective, officials who misuse their administrative powers are “no different from kidnappers,” adding that such acts would be pursued seriously.
He noted that administrative corruption violates citizens’ rights and undermines public trust in state institutions.
The governor called on residents of Herat not to remain silent in the face of wrongdoing and urged them to report cases of corruption directly to the provincial authorities and relevant officials.
According to Islamjar, addressing public complaints is a priority for the local administration, and violators will be dealt with in line with government decisions.
He also emphasized the role of public cooperation in promoting administrative transparency, saying citizen participation could help advance reforms and prevent corruption.
