Iran–Afghanistan Hold New Round of Border Security Talks
DID Press: Iran and Afghanistan held a new round of border talks under the framework of agreements reached by senior officials of both countries, with a focus on strengthening security and bilateral cooperation.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Afghanistan announced that the meeting took place in a constructive atmosphere at a shared border location, in line with understandings between high-level border authorities from both sides.
During the talks, representatives reviewed recent developments and issues related to border management, stressing the need to enhance field-level coordination and to improve joint operational mechanisms.
Both sides underlined the importance of stability and security in border regions, describing their shared commitment to sustainable security and expanded border cooperation as a key asset in bilateral relations.
They also agreed to continue joint meetings and follow up on previous agreements to facilitate cross-border interaction and strengthen cooperation mechanisms.
The negotiations are part of an ongoing process of consultations aimed at improving management of the shared border and reinforcing good-neighbourly relations.
