Jamaat-e-Islami Calls Nationwide Protests in Pakistan Over US–Israel Actions Against Iran

DID Press: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan has declared Friday a “National Day of Protest,” organizing demonstrations across the country in response to what it describes as U.S. and Israeli aggressions against Iran. The announcement followed an emergency meeting of the party’s Central Executive Council and a meeting between Jamaat-e-Islami leader Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman and the Iranian ambassador in Islamabad.

According to a party statement, rallies in various Pakistani cities aim to express solidarity with Iran and condemn recent attacks. Speaking after the meeting with the Iranian ambassador, Naeem-ur-Rehman sharply criticized the actions of the U.S. and Israel, describing them alongside India as “key drivers of regional instability.”

The party also called on the Pakistani government to review its regional policies and to conduct transparent investigations into recent security incidents, including the shooting by security forces at the U.S. consulate in Karachi.

In addition, Jamaat-e-Islami emphasized the importance of dialogue between Islamabad and Kabul to reduce tensions and urged protesters to maintain calm and refrain from violence.
