US Warns Taliban: “We Will Not Tolerate Hostage Diplomacy”

DID Press: A senior aide to the US president has warned the Taliban that Washington will not rest until all detained American citizens in Afghanistan are released.

Sebastian Gorka, Deputy Assistant to President Donald Trump, stated that the United States will not tolerate what he described as “hostage diplomacy” by the Taliban.

In a message posted on social media, Gorka said Washington would continue its efforts until all Americans held by the Taliban are freed. He specifically called for the immediate release of Dennis Kuil, Mahmood Shah Habibi, Paul Overby, and Faye Hall from Taliban custody.

Gorka emphasized that the continued detention of U.S. citizens is unacceptable and warned that the United States could impose additional punitive measures and diplomatic pressure on the Taliban if necessary.

The renewed warning signals intensifying pressure from Washington on the Taliban and could influence ongoing negotiations and the broader security situation in Afghanistan.
