Taliban Report Seizure of Pakistani Outpost After Intense Border Fighting

DID Press: Following intense clashes last night between the Taliban and Pakistan along the disputed Durand Line, Taliban sources claimed that their forces captured a Pakistani military outpost in Khost Province.

According to sources affiliated with the Taliban government, rising tensions along the Afghanistan–Pakistan border led to an operation in which Taliban fighters reportedly seized a military position belonging to Pakistani forces.

The heavy confrontation occurred along the Durand Line in the Tani district of Khost Province and reportedly resulted in casualties among Pakistani troops.

Simultaneously, official Taliban sources stated that Pakistani military attacks on Afghan territory between February 22 and April 4, 2026, resulted in the deaths of 761 Afghan civilians and injuries to 626 others. These attacks have significantly affected civilian populations and heightened concerns about escalating harm in border regions.

The Durand Line has long remained a critical flashpoint in relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan, and the latest clashes have further complicated this longstanding dispute.

Given the deteriorating situation and mounting casualties on both sides, analysts warn that continued hostilities could carry broader security and political consequences for both countries.
