Afghanistan–Uzbekistan Sign 38 Trade Deals Worth $520M at Kabul Conference
DID Press: During the “Trade Connectivity” conference between private-sector representatives of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, held in Kabul, delegates from both countries signed 38 commercial memorandums of understanding with a combined value exceeding $520 million.

The conference was attended by a broad range of business leaders, chambers of commerce, and economic officials from both sides. Its stated objective was to expand cooperation in trade, transit, and investment.
According to organizers, the signed agreements cover diverse sectors, including the import and export of food products, agricultural goods, construction materials, energy, transportation, and logistics cooperation.
Officials from the current Afghan administration emphasized that these agreements form part of the growing economic relationship between Kabul and Tashkent and could contribute to increasing bilateral trade volumes while strengthening Afghanistan’s role as a regional connectivity hub.
Uzbekistan has emerged in recent years as one of Afghanistan’s key trading partners, and both countries are working to raise the level of economic exchange to several billion dollars in the coming years.
The holding of this conference and the signing of new agreements are viewed as another step toward strengthening economic cooperation and facilitating private-sector activity between the two neighboring states.
