DID Press: Belgian authorities confirmed the seizure of two shipments of military-related components at Liège Airport, which are now under criminal investigation. The cargo, originating from the US company Moog and routed through its facilities in the United Kingdom, was reportedly destined for Israel and was declared as “standard aircraft parts.”

According to the Belgian Federal Prosecutor’s Office, the intercepted shipments contained fire-control systems and components associated with military aircraft. The equipment had been exported under individual licenses and misclassified as ordinary aircraft parts.
Authorities said the case is now being examined to determine whether there were violations in export authorization procedures, classification rules, or transfer regulations.
European media reports note that the seizure comes amid heightened scrutiny of military supplies to Israel following recent US and Israeli strikes on Iran, with human rights groups and European lawmakers calling for stricter oversight of defense-related exports.
In recent weeks, several rights organizations and political parties across Europe have urged greater transparency in arms export licensing and tighter controls on shipments linked to defense industries.
The Belgian Prosecutor’s Office said investigations are ongoing to establish whether European Union arms export regulations were breached.
