SCO Meeting in Moscow Stresses War-Free Afghanistan
DID Press: Deputy foreign ministers from member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization met in Moscow to discuss strengthening multilateral cooperation, the situation in Afghanistan, and broader regional developments.

During the meeting, participating officials underscored the importance of stability in Afghanistan, stating that the country must be free from war, terrorism, and the production and trafficking of narcotics. They also emphasized the need for enhanced regional cooperation to achieve lasting peace.
Participants further expressed support for the creation of “an independent, neutral, and peaceful Afghanistan,” noting that achieving this objective requires close coordination among regional countries and constructive engagement with international institutions.
The meeting comes as developments in Afghanistan remain a central focus of regional consultations, with member states highlighting dialogue and joint cooperation as essential tools for addressing ongoing security and economic challenges.
