US Lawmakers: Trump’s Iran War Failed, Urge Immediate Withdrawal

DID Press: Senior members of US House of Representatives, including Gregory Meeks, Adam Smith, and Jim Himes, have declared that former President Donald Trump failed to achieve key objectives in the conflict with Iran and called for an immediate end to military operations.

In a joint statement, the lawmakers said the administration did not meet its three stated goals in the war and argued that continued U.S. military presence in the region lacks justification.

They cited the 60-day deadline under the War Powers Resolution, emphasizing that the president is required to withdraw U.S. forces if congressional authorization is not secured.

The statement warned that ongoing military engagement has not produced results and instead risks escalating tensions further. The lawmakers urged a swift withdrawal of American troops and an end to the conflict.
