Democrats Reject Trump Claim That War Has Ended

DID Press: Leading Democrats in US Senate have sharply dismissed President Donald Trump’s claim that the war with Iran has ended, calling it “baseless” and inconsistent with realities on the ground.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer described the statement as “nonsense,” arguing that the conflict initiated under the administration continues without legal authorization and remains highly destabilizing. He warned that continued political support for the war is endangering lives, increasing chaos, and driving up costs for American citizens.

Senator Jeanne Shaheen, a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, also rejected Trump’s claim, saying it does not match operational realities. She noted that tens of thousands of U.S. troops remain deployed in the region under ongoing threat conditions, while tensions persist in strategic waterways and domestic economic pressures continue to rise.

Shaheen added that the absence of a clear strategy and congressional authorization undermines the legitimacy of the military campaign, stressing that recent political statements do not alter conditions on the ground.
