DID Press: Fresh reports from inside the White House indicate a growing split within Donald Trump’s national security team over how to deal with Iran, with one faction pushing for continued diplomacy while another favors limited military strikes to increase pressure on Tehran.

According to reports by CNN and other international media outlets, some officials within the White House and the Pentagon believe targeted military action is the only way to force Iran into concessions and reshape negotiations.
In contrast, another group of senior advisers argues that diplomacy remains the least costly and most effective path to prevent wider regional escalation. These officials warn that military action could trigger a broader conflict across the Middle East and place American forces in danger.
A White House spokesperson said Trump is keeping “all options on the table” but still prefers a diplomatic solution — a position analysts say has been undermined by conflicting messages from other members of the administration, exposing the absence of a unified Iran strategy.
Trump also warned in an interview with a French media outlet that Iran would face “very difficult conditions” if no agreement is reached, adding that Tehran “should make a deal.”
The internal dispute comes as tensions across West Asia remain high, with observers warning that any major decision in Washington could have far-reaching consequences for regional security and ongoing negotiations.
