India Sends 20 Tons of Medical Supplies to Afghanistan
DID Press: India has dispatched a 20-ton shipment of essential medical equipment and supplies to Afghanistan as part of its ongoing humanitarian assistance, according to India’s Ministry of External Affairs.

Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the shipment is intended to support child vaccination programs and strengthen public health services in Afghanistan.
In a post on social media platform X, Jaiswal noted that the cargo includes dry supplies required for tuberculosis (TB) vaccination programs, as well as tetanus and diphtheria vaccines.
He added that the assistance reflects India’s continued commitment to supporting the Afghan people, particularly in the health sector, and said more medical consignments are expected in the future.
Health experts say the provision of vaccines and medical equipment is crucial for preventing the spread of vaccine-preventable diseases and reducing public health risks among children.
Afghanistan has faced recurring shortages of medical supplies in recent years due to economic challenges and limitations in its healthcare system.
