Express Tribune: Taliban Leader Orders TTP to Halt Attacks Inside Pakistan
DID Press: The Express Tribune reports that the leader of the Taliban has instructed the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to stop conducting attacks inside Pakistan, in what is described as part of efforts by Kabul to reduce tensions with Islamabad.

According to the report, the directive from Hibatullah Akhundzada was communicated through diplomatic and security channels as an attempt to reassure Pakistan and demonstrate Kabul’s willingness to address concerns over militant activity based in Afghanistan.
The Express Tribune said the message is intended to signal goodwill and potentially improve strained relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
However, Pakistani officials have responded cautiously, saying that verbal assurances alone are not sufficient. An unnamed senior official was quoted as saying that despite repeated commitments from the Taliban, there has been no noticeable improvement in the security situation or in TTP operations.
The official emphasized that the core issue is not a lack of assurances but the absence of “tangible and verifiable actions.”
Islamabad, according to the report, continues to demand concrete, enforceable steps from the Taliban rather than statements or informal guarantees to address its security concerns.
