Trump Reportedly Rebukes Netanyahu in Heated Call Over Lebanon Escalation

DID Press: Donald Trump reportedly delivered a sharply critical message to Benjamin Netanyahu during a phone call on Monday, warning him over the escalation of Israeli military operations in Lebanon.

According to a report by Axios citing two U.S. officials and one informed source, Trump used unusually strong language during the conversation, calling Netanyahu “crazy” and urging him to reconsider the scale of the operations.

The report claims Trump told Netanyahu that he was “saving” him politically and warned that continued escalation was generating widespread international backlash against Israel.

The call reportedly followed an Israeli order targeting the Dahiyeh in Beirut amid ongoing clashes with Hezbollah.

Fighting between Israel and Hezbollah has continued since October 2023, despite a declared ceasefire in late 2024.

The report also comes amid broader diplomatic tensions involving Iran, with Iranian officials, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, accusing Israel of violating ceasefire understandings in Lebanon. Trump, meanwhile, has stated that negotiations with Iran toward a lasting settlement are still ongoing.
