Pentagon Raises Alarm Over Alleged Israeli Espionage Threat

DID Press: US defense officials have reportedly elevated concerns over Israeli intelligence activities, with sources telling NBC News that the Pentagon has classified the potential espionage threat from Israel at its highest warning level.

According to NBC News, citing multiple security officials, an internal alert was circulated within the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) warning of increased Israeli intelligence activity inside the United States.

The report states that officials within the United States Department of Defense are concerned that Israel may be attempting to monitor or gather information on senior U.S. government officials.

The reported warning comes amid growing political and security disagreements between the United States and Israel in recent months.

U.S. officials cited in the report said such a threat classification is typically reserved for situations in which a foreign actor is assessed as conducting intelligence operations that are active, organized, and potentially harmful.

Neither the Pentagon nor Israeli authorities immediately commented on the reported assessment.
