Afghanistan Issues Flood and Rainfall Alert for 11 Provinces

DID Press: Afghanistan’s meteorological authorities have warned of possible rainfall and flash flooding across 11 provinces on Friday, urging residents in vulnerable areas to remain alert.

According to the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation of Afghanistan, rainfall is forecast in Nuristan, Kunar, Nangarhar, Laghman, Parwan, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Paktia, Khost, Ghazni and Paktika.

Forecasts indicate precipitation levels ranging from 10 mm to 25 mm across different parts of the affected provinces.

Officials warned that localized flooding and sudden water flows remain possible, particularly in mountainous and low-lying areas, and advised communities to take precautionary measures.

The alert comes as seasonal weather patterns continue to raise the risk of flash floods in several parts of Afghanistan.
