US Intelligence Agency Begins Third Round of Workforce Cuts

DID Press: Bill Pulte, acting director of the US Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), has announced the start of the third round of workforce reductions at the agency.

Pulte said in a post on the social media platform X that the US intelligence community is now operating “more effectively and efficiently than ever” and that the latest round of cuts targets additional or unnecessary positions.

He did not disclose the exact number of employees affected by the latest dismissals.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence has previously carried out several rounds of workforce reductions. CNN reported in June that US President Donald Trump expected Pulte, after appointing him as acting head of the agency, to reduce the workforce by hundreds of employees.

CBS has also reported that the US administration is considering reducing the number of ODNI employees to around 1,300.
