DID Press: British newspaper The Independent has reported that US President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed victory over Iran but has failed to present clear evidence of military or political success. The newspaper argued that Washington lacks the ability to achieve a decisive victory in a war with Iran and warned that Trump’s approach has pushed the United States and its allies into a crisis with no easy exit.
According to The Independent, Trump has declared victory over Iran 32 times, including five times in a 13-second video published in March. The report said the repeated claims reflect what it described as a crisis of confidence and uncertainty in US foreign policy.
The newspaper’s analysis said Washington has neither sufficient military capacity for a decisive victory nor a clear strategy for ending the current confrontation. It added that Trump’s policies have drawn the United States and its allies into a crisis whose consequences could extend beyond the Middle East.
