DID Press: Iraqi resistance groups have warned they are prepared to join military action against US forces if Washington intensifies its attacks on Iran, raising the prospect of broader regional escalation.
In a new statement, Iraqi resistance factions said they are ready to confront US forces should American military operations against Iran expand.
The groups, which have played a prominent role in Iraq’s security landscape in recent years, said any increase in pressure on Iran could trigger a direct response from the Iraqi resistance.
Iraqi security authorities have not yet issued an official response to the threat. However, analysts say such statements could heighten tensions between Baghdad and Washington and further destabilize the region’s already fragile security environment.
