DID Press: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it carried out missile strikes targeting what it described as an Amazon data infrastructure facility in Bahrain and a compound housing U.S. military personnel in Jordan, as part of the 24th wave of its “Nasr 2” operation. The claims have not been independently verified.
According to an IRGC statement, the strikes were launched in response to what Iran described as a U.S. attack on civilian facilities in Darkhoveyn the previous day. The IRGC claimed that several cruise missiles struck and destroyed a central data infrastructure facility belonging to the U.S.-based technology company Amazon in Bahrain.
In a separate statement, the IRGC said it also targeted a compound hosting U.S. military personnel in the Rukban area of Jordan, claiming that a number of American troops were killed in the attack. The group said its military operations against U.S. forces would continue until what it called U.S. “aggression” ends.
Separately, The Wall Street Journal reported that Iran’s missile arsenal has become faster and more advanced, and that despite military strikes by the United States and Israel, Tehran has continued to expand its missile capabilities. According to the report, Western analysts view the trend as evidence of Iran’s growing deterrence capacity in the region.
