DID Press: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until what he described as the “blockade and sanctions” on Iran’s oil exports are lifted.

Ghalibaf said reopening the strategic waterway would be conditional on the removal of restrictions on Iranian oil exports.
He warned that Tehran was prepared to respond proportionally to what he called hostile actions and “enemy aggression,” adding that Iran could inflict an even heavier defeat on its adversaries than before.
The remarks come amid heightened tensions surrounding the strategic waterway, a vital route for global energy shipments.
