Afghanistan Warns of Heavy Rain and Flash Floods in Five Provinces

DID Press: Afghanistan’s Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and possible flash floods in five eastern and southeastern provinces.

The warning, valid for August 31, 2026, covers Nuristan, Kunar, Laghman, Nangarhar and Khost, where rainfall between 10 and 30 millimeters is forecast in different areas.

The department also warned of strong winds accompanied by dust across parts of northern, western, southern, southeastern, eastern and central Afghanistan, with wind speeds expected to range between 50 and 90 km/h.
