Taliban Breaks Ground on $76 Million Islamic Culture Printing Center in Kabul

DID Press: Taliban has laid the foundation stone for the Afghanistan Islamic Culture Printing and Publishing Center in Kabul’s Sabz Industrial Park, as part of a planned expansion of printing and publishing activities focused on Islamic and cultural works.

Abdullah Azzam, head of the office of the Taliban’s first deputy prime minister, said the center would be built on 110 jeribs of land at an estimated cost of $76 million.

According to Azzam, the facility is intended to expand the printing and publication of Islamic literature, cultural works and other related materials in Afghanistan.

The project is expected to establish a dedicated production and publishing facility for Islamic and cultural publications, although further details about its construction timeline, funding sources and planned capacity were not provided in the report.
