UK Provided Vital Aid to 5 Million Afghans Last Year

DID Press: Richard Lindsay, the UK Special Representative for Afghanistan, says Britain provided vital assistance to at least 5 million Afghans last year, including 3 million women and girls.

Lindsay said in a post on X that the assistance covered health, food and nutrition, water and sanitation, and livelihoods. The figures refer to assistance provided between April 2025 and March 2026.

He emphasized that the United Kingdom directs its assistance to areas where the needs are greatest.
