IRGC: Al-Aqsa Flood Turned Resistance Front Into a Strategic Power

DID Press: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says the October 7, 2023, Al-Aqsa Flood operation has had strategic consequences for the regional balance of power, arguing that the Resistance Front remains intact despite heavy pressure and the deaths of senior commanders. The IRGC also warned that any miscalculation or attempt to launch a new war or aggression against Iran would face a “painful and devastating” response.

In a statement marking the third anniversary of the operation, the IRGC said regional strategic dynamics had shifted in favor of the Resistance Front since October 7, 2023, and claimed that the operation had shattered what it called the “myth of the Israeli military’s invincibility.” It said the Resistance Front, stretching from Gaza and Lebanon to Yemen, Iraq, Syria and Iran, had challenged Israel and its supporters through what it described as a coordinated alignment.

The IRGC accused the United States of supporting Israeli actions and threatening the Islamic Republic, saying Washington had failed to achieve its stated objectives and had lost credibility in the eyes of global public opinion. The statement also referred to what it called the “second and third imposed wars” against Iran and said the Iranian armed forces had responded decisively, declaring that the “era of cost-free threats has ended.”

The statement further claimed that Israel was facing “economic, political and international collapse” and that the United States was confronting growing challenges. It specifically linked what it described as the difficulties facing Washington and Tel Aviv to Iran’s “closure and firm management” of the Strait of Hormuz.

The IRGC said the Resistance Front remains “united, stronger and more prepared” despite heavy pressure and the deaths of senior commanders. It also claimed that the United States and Israel had failed to achieve their objective of weakening and fragmenting Iran as a regional power.

The statement concluded by reaffirming the IRGC’s commitment to continuing what it calls the path of resistance until the liberation of Jerusalem. It also said Palestine would ultimately be liberated “from the river to the sea.”
