DID Press: Mohamed ElBaradei, the former director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, has warned of the consequences of a possible renewed US attack on Iran, saying such an action could come at a heavy cost for the Middle East.

In a post on the social media platform X, ElBaradei said: “Any further US attack on Iran would be an act of madness and would only lead to more violence and destruction.”
He also urged those with influence over US President Donald Trump to make every possible effort to dissuade him from taking such action.
ElBaradei and the IAEA jointly received the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to prevent the military use of nuclear energy.
