DID Press: An Associated Press survey of voters in the 2026 US midterm elections indicates that opposition to Donald Trump, concerns about the economy and anxiety over the future of democracy were among the main factors influencing voters who supported Democratic candidates.

The survey also found that younger voters and Hispanic voters were less supportive of Republicans than they had been in the 2024 election, with many shifting their support toward Democratic candidates.
According to the findings, approximately 70% of voters under the age of 30 supported Democratic candidates in House of Representatives races, while around 30% voted for Republicans.
Meanwhile, approximately 60% of Hispanic voters backed Democratic candidates, compared with roughly one-third who supported Republican candidates.
The survey identified the state of the economy and the future of democracy as two of the most significant concerns among American voters. Rising living costs and government corruption were also among the key issues shaping electoral decisions.
Around 40% of respondents said they had voted to express their opposition to Donald Trump. By contrast, fewer than 20% said their vote was intended to show support for the US president.
The survey involved approximately 80,000 voters across all 50 US states and was conducted in cooperation with research firm SSRS and several major American media organizations.
