The Independent Election Commission (IEC) vowed the date for holding parliamentary and district council elections on 20 October is unchangeable.

Earlier, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, Salahuddin Rabbani, Mohammad Mohaqiq and a number political parties’ representatives demanded the government and IEC to halt the current election process.
However, the IEC said it is impossible to stop voter registration process.

The leader of Hezb-e Islami on Tuesday claimed that 3 million people have registered themselves for the parliamentary elections, not 8 million people.
