President Ghani met with High Peace Council (HPC) leadership and members on Sunday in the presidential palace, ARG said in a statement.

During the meeting, president Ghani said the advisory board will not be a parallel organization to HPC.
“the advisory board will not be a parallel organization to HPC, but rather an inclusive board which will advise the government and the HPC on issues of national significance including peace,” he said.
During the past week, president Ghani met with heads of political parties, members of civil society, and youth to consult about forming a consultative board regarding peace talks with the Taliban.
