The leader of Hezb-e Islami Gulbuddin Hekmatyar on Sunday said during a press conference that the NUG wants to play the same game as it did with the parliamentary election process, adding that Jamiat party has offered him to have one ticket for the upcoming presidential election.

The leader of Hezb-e Islami Gulbuddin Hekmatyar on Sunday said during a press conference that the NUG wants to play the same game as it did with the parliamentary election process, adding that Jamiat party has offered him to have one ticket for the upcoming presidential election.
“The outcome of the parliamentary election process is not acceptable to anyone and the government has declared the failed candidates as the winner,” said Hekmatyar at the press conference.
“Unfortunately, the government wants to play the same game as it did with the parliamentary election. In many provinces, the failed candidates were declared as the winner of the election. The whole process (election) was full of fraud,” he added.
According to Hekmatyar, the commissioners of the election commission had asked candidates to give money if they want to win a seat in parliament.

Invalidation of Kabul constituency;
“The electoral complaint commission (ECC) declared Kabul constituency votes invalid because the candidates of Hezb-e Islami won the election,” said Hekmatyar.
“The outcome of the parliamentary election is unacceptable for Hezb-e Islami and the government should know that the ground for unrest is prepared in Kabul and all other provinces,” he underlined.

The peace process and the presidential election;
Pointing to the presidential election, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar said his party does not want to have an independent nominee for the election. It wants to go for election along with other favorable parties.
To speak allusively, Hekmatyar called president Ghani a dictator, saying that he does not want another dictator to go into the presidential palace in the next presidential election.
The Hizb-i Islami leader told the Americans that if they let the current government play with the peace process the same as election, everything will fail and they should accept the defeat.

Hekmatyar claimed that he was offered by Jamiat-e Islami party to have a single ticket for the presidential election. Jamiat party told me that the president can be from Hezb-e Islami, but the first vice president and the executive directorate should be from Jamiat party.
Hekmatyar called for talks between the political parties and the Taliban group.
