Afghanistan Invited to Moscow Peace Conference

Russia sent invitations to Afghanistan, US and some regional countries to participate in Moscow peace conference. Afghan leaders are consulting on the invitation

“An invitation from Russia has been handed over the High Council for National Reconciliation,” said Faraidoon Khwazoon, a spokesman for the High Council for National Reconciliation. “The council’s leadership is currently consulting on the invitation,” he added.

According to him, government leaders, some political leaders, the Taliban, and some countries in the region as well as the United States have also been invited to the conference.
Russia will convene the conference as the United States recently offered to hold a conference on the Afghan peace process in Turkey.
