After the Moscow peace summit held in Russia, the Pakistani Foreign Minister issued a statement, supporting Russia’s efforts in bringing peace in Afghanistan.
The Pakistani foreign ministry backed up Russia’s efforts in bringing peace in Afghanistan by issuing a statement.
“the Afghan issue can only be politically resolved,” said Mohammad Faisal, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman.
“all parties participating in this meeting should take into account the interests of the neighboring countries of Afghanistan, step aside from their hard line, and be more flexible,” he added.
This was the first meeting of the Moscow Format with the participation of Afghan High Peace Council representatives and Afghan Taliban delegation from its Qatar political office. India and the United States were present in the meeting as observers.

The Afghan government did not officially attend the meeting and the High Peace Council as an independent body participated in the meeting.
The Afghan government has always emphasised that the process of peace talks with the Taliban should be Afghan-owned and Afghan-led, therefore, it did not have a formal presence at the Moscow summit.

The talks come as the US special representative for the Afghan peace Zalmay Khalilzad has begun his second round of trips to the region, in order to give a new spirit to the Afghan peace with the American initiative.
Last month, the Taliban group confirmed in a statement that its representatives met with Khalilzad in Qatar.
