Pakistan Must Hand over Gen. Raziq’s Assassination Plotters to Kabul: Ghani

President M. Ashraf Ghani has asked Pakistan to hand over assassination plotters of General Abdul Raziq – former Kandahar police chief – to Afghanistan in his trip to Kandahar on Tuesday.

President M. Ashraf Ghani has asked Pakistan to hand over assassination plotters of General Abdul Raziq – former Kandahar police chief – to Afghanistan in his trip to Kandahar on Tuesday.
During a trip to the southern province of Kandahar, Ghani met with the family of the deceased commander – including Raziq’s mother.
“I want to say that this conspiracy was plotted in Pakistan. So Pakistan should give us the criminals so that we can bring them to justice,” said Ghani.

Brig. Gen. Abdul Raziq, 39, was gunned down in an attack on Thursday afternoon at the Kandahar governor’s compound.
The Afghan government believes the assassination plotter of general Raziq is in Pakistan, Afghanistan is willing to cooperate with any board that probes the incident.

This comes as the NDS chief Masoum Stanekzai said that the assailant made a phone call beyond the border moments before the shooting.
So far, 15 people have been arrested in connection with General Raziq’s assassination and the investigation is ongoing.
Hours after the Kandahar shooting, Pakistan embassy condemned the incident in a statement but has not commented on Ghani’s remarks yet.
