Quadrilateral Summit; Repetition of Null Turn!
The Afghan government is so enthusiastic in its talks with Pakistan that even has completely forgotten its reasonable past conditions with that country. but the president did not say that negotiation with Pakistan without a practical action in the fight against terrorists’ safe havens in Pakistan’s soil, has no meaning!
The quadrilateral meeting of Afghanistan and Pakistan is launched again when Pakistan is noticeably isolated after the declaration of US strategy on Afghanistan. The isolation was so tangible that even the political representatives of Pakistan were delirious and were judging Afghanistan’s foreign policy at the UN general assembly.
The fact is that whenever Pakistan has become under pressure in relation to Afghanistan, it has posed the peace issue, not for peace, but for saving itself from the international pressures. This way, it has been successful to avoid the international pressures, having a benevolent and peaceful figure, while it not only does anything about peace but also continues to kill the people by reinforcing the terror groups.
Pakistan is now under pressure from the international community as a supporter of several terrorist groups, including the Taliban, Jaish Mohammad, the Haqqani network and … and the US strategy also illustrates the fact that Pakistan is no longer a reliable source not only for the fight against terrorism but itself finances the terrorism.
Afghanistan’s enthusiasm about the quadrilateral negotiation with Pakistan without any practical measure to destroy the safe havens of terrorists in that territory by Islamabad, is in fact falling into a null turn, which no one benefit, other than Pakistan, because negotiating with Pakistan without any action by that country in the fight against terrorist networks based in the country, is actually giving Pakistan a peaceful face which it can reduce the international pressures.
The Afghan government is so enthusiastic in its talks with Pakistan that even it has completely forgotten its reasonable past conditions with that country. but the president did not say that negotiation with Pakistan without a practical action in the fight against terrorists’ safe havens in Pakistan soil, has no meaning!
The Afghan government should not engage in negotiation with moral courtesies and optimism, because these types of talks will be another opportunity for Pakistan to flee the pressure of the international community and, on the other hand, an opportunity to strengthen the terror groups that cannot be eviler during cold weather.
