Taliban Can Treat their Injuries in State Hospital – Says Baghlan Governor

Northern Baghlan Governor Abdulhay Nemati said that that Taliban insurgents can treat their injuries in public health facilities.

Northern Baghlan Governor Abdulhay Nemati said that that Taliban insurgents can treat their injuries in public health facilities.
Baghlan governor expressed the issue on Saturday during a meeting held in the center of the province to provide peace in Pul-e Khumri city.
“We do not want to kill Afghans and demand those who kill us to give up killing their brothers, and give a positive answer to the unconditional peace offer of the president,” Baghlan governor said.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the provincial council Safdar Muhseni condemned Baghlan governor’s rhetoric.
“As a representative of people, I think it is not right to treat those who are fighting against their people and government in public hospitals,” Mr Muhseni told DID press agency.
However, he refused to add more details, saying: “I have not been aware of the governor’s comments on this issue. So, I should personally talk to him and ask him the reason.”

Mr Nemati was appointed as the governor of Baghlan province by the president a year ago. Following the president’s order, Baghlan residents protested against the verdict and accused the governor of being ‘incompetent.’
