3 High-Ranking Afghan Interior Ministry Officials sentenced to 8 years in Prison

Afghanistan’s anti-corruption Justice Counter (ACJC) for Heavy Crimes announced Tuesday that three high-ranking officials of the Interior Ministry have been sentenced to 8 years in prison over misconduct.


Afghanistan’s anti-corruption Justice Counter (ACJC) for Heavy Crimes announced Tuesday that three high-ranking officials of the Interior Ministry have been sentenced to 8 years in prison over misconduct.
The Attorney General’s office said in a statement that “Major General Abdul Razaq Amiri, acting Deputy of Afghan Public Protection Force to Ministry of Interior, Atta Mohammad Roki, Director of the Operations Plan of the General Directorate of the APPF, and Hamidullah Raheel, General Director of Finance and Trade of the APPF”, are the individuals who were sentenced to imprisonment during a session of the ACJC.

According to the statement, these people are charged over misusing their jurisdiction in the case of 307 oil-tanker carrying fuel to the foreign forces which were burnt in Arghandi square of Kabul city in 2014.

“these tankers have been burnt due to translocation and the explosion of a magnetic mine that 307 tankers were completely destroyed by the massive ablaze,” ACJC added.
