“These individuals, who were members of the Taliban’s Red Unit in Kunduz province, had come to Herat city to launch terrorist attacks that were identified and arrested by the security forces in PD3 before carrying out any action,” said Gilani Farhad, a spokesperson for Herat governor.
“Two others, who are accused of terrorist activities were also arrested in “Darb-e Khush” area and Injil district of the province,” he added.
There is not much information about the Taliban’s “Red Unit”, but it is said that most of the suicidal and offensive attacks are designed and implemented by this Unit.
